Meet Ralphie! 🧡🐾
Ralphie is a 4-year-old AKC registered red Beagle (though we do not have his papers) with one of the sweetest, most tender little souls. He was surrendered after a heart murmur meant he could no longer hunt, and he’s still adjusting to this big change in his life.
We’ve joked that Ralphie probably should have been named Eeyore. He’s been a bit mopey since arriving at Sam’s Place, although we’re starting to wonder if that might simply be part of his endearing personality!
Ralphie is a shy, gentle boy who approaches new people and affection cautiously. He’ll quietly accept some love, but he’s not quite ready to completely let his guard down yet. We’re giving him all the time and patience he needs, and we’re so excited to watch his personality unfold as he realizes he’s safe and loved.
And despite being a Beagle, Ralphie has been surprisingly quiet so far! He hasn’t shown us that classic Beagle voice just yet — although we make no promises that he won’t eventually find it.
Ralphie is looking for a patient, loving home where he can settle in at his own pace and discover just how good life can be. We have a feeling there’s a very special little dog hiding underneath those Eeyore eyes, and we can’t wait to see him blossom.
