Meet Fisher! 🐾💙
Fisher first came to Sam’s Place with his siblings after they were found as strays, covered in ticks and needing some extra TLC. He was adopted and returned shortly after. It’s heartbreaking, but it wasn’t the right match.
Fisher is so smart. He picks up new skills quickly and is often our go-to dog when we’re showing someone a training technique. He’s also become quite the social butterfly with other dogs! We once thought he preferred certain female dogs, but he now rooms with our senior boy Merlin and has a group of friends he loves to play with. He even invites them to share his favorite toys.
For all that progress, Fisher is still a shy boy underneath. New people and unfamiliar things can make him unsure of himself. When a cinderblock moved into his paddock, it gave him pause – which made us smile and reminded us that confidence grows one little moment at a time. Give Fisher patience and reassurance, and you’ll meet the affectionate softy who loves to cuddle with people he trusts.
Fisher would thrive with a confident, patient person who enjoys training and can help him feel secure as he keeps discovering the world. He has done well with cats, and we believe children ages 10 and up would be the best fit. If you have a dog at home, we’ll arrange an introduction to see if they click.
