Firefly came to us from Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue in early September 2025. We were honored that Terri and her team at Rainbow Bridge chose us to continue her care. Upon arrival, she had some skin issues, a possible collapsed trachea, limited eyesight, no hearing, and heart worms. Our vet found no collapsed trachea (great news!), but confirmed the HW+, a heart murmur, and found fluid in her lungs. We monitored her closely, with regular vet appts, and assessed her longterm plan. Her comfort was always our top priority. We also noticed that she had some mobility issues, but appreciated the carpet we put in her room! After a few weeks of showering her with all the love and care she deserved, the bad days started to become more frequent than good and we had to make the tough decision. We notified Terri and picked a date. She was laid to rest in the Zen Garden, on a lovely sunny day, surrounded by our team. We offered her all the yummy treats she could want while we said our goodbyes. It was a beautiful goodbye to our sweet Firefly.
