Eva, if you only knew how safe you are now. This precious girl was rescued by Saving Ukulele in Puerto Rico. In December 2025, thanks to Maria of Saving Ukulele, Laura (her foster mom), and Jamie (our Flight Angel), Eva made her way to Sam’s Place and we are honored to have her. In her foster home, she was starting to open up and loved playing with toys and other dogs. Understandably, she arrived in the States very nervous and shutdown. We are eager to see her true personality, but know it will happen on her terms. We are in no rush to find her a new home and are excited to spend quality time with her. When she is ready for adoption, it will take a few visits before she feels comfortable enough with her new family. We will welcome applications for her, but please be patient as we take the time she needs. We know she is worth it and love you already, Eva!
12/16/25: She got the ZOOMIES! We are so excited that she is opening up!
1/27/26: Sweet girl is still making progress every day! She loves to run and play with her friends and “her people.” We are working on her opening up to more of the team, slow and steady. If you have chicken, she’s suddenly not so worried.. We’re catching on, Eva! 🙂
3/10/26: Eva has had some offsite adventures lately and has surprised us with so much confidence! She’s traveled to Tractor Supply and Petsmart, even to a neighboring barn to meet horses and cats. We were amazed at how well she did with all of the new sights and sounds. Good girl, Eva!
