This precious girl was rescued in Puerto Rico by Saving Ukulele and later made her way to Sam’s Place with the help of Maria, her foster mom Laura, and her Flight Angel, Jamie. We are so honored to be part of her journey.
When Eva first arrived, she was incredibly nervous and shut down. We knew her true personality would emerge on her own terms and little by little, she has shown us just how special she is. She now loves getting the zoomies, playing with toys, and running with her dog friends. In fact, because she enjoys other dogs so much, she has even become one of our trusted “dog testers,” helping us welcome new pups into the group!
Eva has also surprised us with her confidence during offsite adventures. She has visited stores, explored a neighboring barn, and met horses and cats. New experiences can still feel intimidating, but having a familiar person or friendly dog nearby helps her feel more secure.
Eva is affectionate, playful, and wonderfully silly with the people she trusts. She remains cautious around unfamiliar people and will need a patient family willing to let the relationship develop gradually. She tends to feel most comfortable with adults and will require multiple visits before adoption so she can begin building trust at her own pace.*
Eva may not immediately run into your arms, but once she decides you are one of “her people,” earning her trust is incredibly rewarding. We promise, this sweet girl is worth the wait.
